“The UK has been enriched by migrant entrepreneurship economically and culturally through the freedom of movement of EU nationals, and by the migrant communities that have settled here. The UK government needs to carefully consider how it can continue to attract individuals with innovative businesses and ideas in a post-Brexit environment. One solution would be to simplify and relax the immigration policies to remove any barriers for these entrepreneurs. If the government sets thresholds to enter the UK too high, these entrepreneurs will seek other opportunities in cities and countries that will be welcoming them with open arms.”
