Workshops- Telling our own stories

A seven-week programme for migrants and refugees campaigning on issues that effect them and their communities.

About this Event

Join us every Saturday between 1 February and 14 March 2020 on a seven-week programme (with a half term break) for migrants and refugees who are campaigning or want to campaign on issues that impact them.

We’ll explore our own stories, learn how the current system works, and develop skills to help us advocate for ourselves and our communities. We will use art, creativity and play to learn together, and we’ll be prioritising rest, emotional wellbeing and community care along the way.

The programme is free, and we have an access fund to support any needs you might have (such as translation/interpretation needs, travel costs, childcare, dietary needs, etc). All the workshops will be delivered in English, but we’ll do our best to cater to your needs.

The programme is open to all migrants and refugees regardless of immigration status, and we welcome those of all races, faiths, genders and sexual orientations. Priority places will be given to residents of Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets.

Spaces are limited so if you’re interested in attending please contact Lena Mohamed to reserve your place: l.mohamed@migrantsrights.org.uk / 0207 424 7386 or book a place via Eventbrite
