Joint letter: Newham Council collaboration with immigration enforcement

Hostile Environment

Today, we joined nine other local Newham organisations asking Rokhsana Fiaz, Mayor of Newham,  to bring about an end to joint working between Council Services and Immigration Enforcement.

We are writing today to urge you to extend these principles and take further steps to isolate the council’s functions from those of the Home Office. We ask that you commit to end cooperation, data sharing and joint working between all council bodies and Immigration Enforcement (IE).”

The full letter, co-signed by 9 local groups can be read here
